Re: What’s new for 2005

DID YOU KNOW our membership nearly doubled in the past year?? That's a Credit to our organization!!

If you are a current member with a valid email address, please send it to: aia@artistsinaction.com with a message to use this for your membership mailing.

Future notices and other information will be posted on our website. This is the most consistent way we can make information available to all members and makes us not dependent on costly mailing.

New officers for 2005: At its annual meeting, members that were present elected the Board of Directors for 2005. The Board, in turn, appointed officers as follows:

The Board will be busy planning 2005 events and looks forward to members' input and participation.

Minutes of the January 2005 meeting are pending approval. Once approved you can check out a summary report provided by member Brigitte Cobb, on "Something Red", which concludes it was a resounding success with the Salem business community and patrons!)

Approved minutes will, in the future, be posted on the AiA website for members (or anyone) to review

The annual Salem Downtown Mixer will be held March 2, 2005, 4:30 - 7pm. This event, hosted by Salem Downtown Association, provides a forum for artists to display their art, and for members of the business community to see them and sign up artists for the year's First Wednesday and other events. This is a great way to meet other artists and business leaders, and to get your name and work "out there". The Salem Downtown Association expects to release more info about this in a couple weeks.

Opportunities: If you have announcements of opportunities for exhibits, competition, shows, festivals, etc., coming up that you feel are of general interest to the membership, please send them to cynthherron@yahoo.com OR to aia@artistsinaction.com. They will be batched and distributed to current members. (Remember, often the best and most timely way to get such notices is at the monthly meetings!) And much thanks goes to member Linda Corbett, who provided this service to you in 2004!
