Artists in Action sponsors and participates in a number of cultural events in the greater Salem area.

Monthly Meetings

Meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of each month from January to October. Speakers, topics of interest and new opportunities for artists are featured. Click here for more information.


Paint the Town!

This annual summer event gives area artists the opportunity to come out of their studios and paint or draw on location at selected spots in and around Salem. Following the on-site painting event, there is a group showing and awards reception.


"Something Red"

"Something Red” is a juried fine arts event sponsored by Artists in Action and Salem Downtown Association. In 2005, 18 downtown Salem business locations exhibited artwork for the month of December, with an Artwalk, Exhibits and Reception. All works done in various media including ceramic, phoography, jewelry, fine woodwork and fabric arts, are original and for sale.

Salem Downtown Display

Members have opportunities to exhibit their works in Salem’s downtown, for one-time events, such as Salem’s First Wednesday, recurring events, and extended exhibits. These are non-juried noncompetitive opportunities for members of Artists in Action to share their art with the community.
