Great Big Thank You, THANK YOU to all the Artists that participated in "Paint the Town 2005". I look forward to seeing all of you at the BLUE PEPPER GALLERY for our NON JURIED Paint the Town Art Show in November. (From Wendy Steinberg, Chairperson, Paint the Town 2005)
A month-long event, held annually in June/July, giving artists the opportunity to come out of their studios and create their art on location at selected spots in Salem. The paintings do not need to be completed on-site. The event was started in 1998 by Wayne Knowles, and has continued each year since. It is now organized by Artists in Action. Following the on-site painting event, there are awards and a group reception and exhibit.

Some of the sights for Paint the Town! 2005 are the Northwest Viticulture Center, Salem's Riverfront Park, World Beat Festival, Cascade Gateway Park, Lavender Farm in Scio, "A Grand Old Tree and Surrounding Cottages", Salem Art Fair at Bush Park, Historic Old Town Salem, and Arabian Horse Show at the State Fair Grounds. This event was conceived to promote artists residing in and near Salem and to draw the public’s notice to art in Salem. This is a great opportunity to make yourself even more visible as an artist. Media includes any artistic material including 3-D.
